鉄舟寺は「幕末の三舟」との呼び名を持ち、剣・禅・書の達人とされた山岡鉄舟（やまおか てっしゅう）が再興した、臨済宗・妙心寺派の禅寺です。

鉄舟寺前の交差点から、仁王門を望みます。
仁王門の左側に、無料駐車場があります。
仁王門を正面から。扁額には観音菩薩が住むとされる、補陀落山の山号が揮毫されています。
仁王門を潜ると、中門の奥に神社の社殿、右側に鐘楼が見えてきます。
中門の先に、熊野十二社があります。
鐘楼近くをから。
鐘楼の近くに、山岡鉄舟の像があります。氏は江戸無血開城の立役者であり、久能寺（鉄舟寺の旧名）のみならず、白隠禅師ゆかりの正受庵再興にも手を尽くしました。
