昭和新山は、昭和18年に出来た新しい火山です。
昭和新山を遠くから。赤い山肌が目立ちます。
有名な観光地なので、大きな駐車場が用意されています。
山肌が赤っぽいのは、土壌が溶岩の熱で焼かれてレンガ状になっているからです。
和新山の隣には、同じく活火山の有珠山(うすざん)とロープウェイ駅があります。
